OUR VISION
To support recognition, awareness, research, and access to care for families who suffer from birth stress, strain, and trauma.
OUR MISSION
Current research shows that 3% of live births result in severe birth trauma to the mother and/or newborn. However, the remaining percentage of births are not studied, screened, or evaluated for lesser than severe stress and strain injuries in the mother or newborn. Therefore, the full impact on public health, both physical and mental, is not yet known.
The goal of The Birth Trauma Foundation is to create awareness, recognition, and ultimately fund research to support better care for this population.
